31st March & 5th April ’13 – Was pleased to be providing my wedding disco for 2 weddings at the Dunkenhalgh hotel near Blackburn this week. This 700 year old country manor in Clayton Le Moors, Blackburn is a really popular wedding venue & always a pleasure to work at.
The first wedding disco was on Easter Sunday for Mr & Mrs Fraser in the Towneley Suite. We got the evening reception started around 8pm with the first dance at approx 9pm which they performed to Bryan Adams ‘Best of Me’, they had then requested to follow this up with Bruno Mars ‘Amazing just the way you are’ & we invited everyone up to join them on the dance floor.
Thereafter, Annaleis, the bride had just a few requests which included Queen, Sweet, some late 90’s, newer hits & a finale to ‘Time of my life’!
All the best to Mr & Mrs Fraser!
‘Hi Andy, sorry it’s taken me a few months but thank you so much for DJ’ing at our Wedding. You did an amazing job and so pleased you were recommended to us by the Dunkenhalgh. Thank you so much.’
Then on the Friday, I was back in the Towneley suite of the Dunkenhalgh, this time providing my wedding disco for Jenny & Phil. Their first dance was performed to ‘I’m Yours’ by Jason Mraz.
They had then asked me to follow this up with ‘Gangnam Style’ (disturbing!) for some of their younger guests! We also had a dance for the father of the bride & his daughter which we did just before the buffet to ‘wind beneath my wings’ from Bette Middler.
Jenny had sent me an extensive song list which included their choices & some guest choices, although they were quite keen to point out it was more of a guide rather than an exact play list!
I did manage to plough through most as they were fairly mainstream anyway. Highlights included ‘The Irish Rover’, my dirty dancing mix (of course!) & a finale to ‘500 miles’!
All the best to Jenny & Phil!
