As a wedding DJ covering Worsley, Manchester, Salford and the North West, I’m fortunate to work at some fantastic venues, and Worsley Court House is certainly one of my favourites.
Full of character and charm, this elegant venue offers a wonderful setting for both wedding ceremonies and evening receptions. Located in the heart of picturesque Worsley, it’s a brilliant choice for couples looking for a stylish venue with a relaxed atmosphere, and its dedicated function spaces create the perfect environment for a memorable wedding celebration.
Every wedding I’ve played here has had its own unique personality, and Jess & Travis’ reception was certainly no exception!
Breaking the Ice with the Mr & Mrs Shoe Game
Before we even got to the dancing, we started the evening with a little fun.
To get everyone involved and create plenty of laughs, we played the ever-popular Mr & Mrs Shoe Game.
This is always a fantastic way to break the ice at a wedding reception, giving guests a chance to learn a little more about the newlyweds while creating lots of hilarious moments before the evening party gets underway.
The room was full of laughter, making it the perfect lead-in to the evening’s formalities.
Cake Cutting & First Dance
With everyone already gathered together, I invited guests around the dance floor for a cake cutting photo opportunity before introducing Mr & Mrs Doe for their first dance.
The couple chose a beautiful cover version of Eternally Yours, creating a lovely romantic moment together before I invited family and friends to join them halfway through the song.
Watching the dance floor quickly fill with loved ones is always one of my favourite parts of any wedding, and it set the tone perfectly for the rest of the evening.
A Wedding Playlist with Personality
One of the things I always encourage couples to do is make their wedding soundtrack reflect their personalities, and Jess & Travis certainly did exactly that.
They both love:
- Metal
- Rock
- Pop-punk
- Alternative music
So naturally, these genres featured heavily throughout the evening and gave the wedding a really unique feel.
Of course, a successful wedding reception is all about striking the right balance, so alongside the heavier tracks we also included:
- Party favourites for the younger guests early in the evening
- Wedding classics that the older generation could enjoy
- Dance floor anthems to keep everyone involved
It’s all about reading the room and making sure every guest gets their moment on the dance floor, while still keeping the couple’s favourite music at the heart of the celebration.
Another Brilliant Wedding at Worsley Court House
This wedding was a fantastic reminder that no two wedding receptions are ever the same.
From the laughs during the Shoe Game to the romantic first dance and a soundtrack packed with rock, punk and alternative anthems, the evening perfectly reflected Jess & Travis as a couple.
