I’m DJ Andy B of Andy B Events, and recently I had the pleasure of providing wedding entertainment for Ami & Jake, now the fantastic Mr & Mrs Chesters, at the beautiful Delta Hotels by Marriott Preston.
It had actually been a little while since my last wedding at this venue, so it was great to be back entertaining at one of Preston’s best-known hotel wedding venues.
Delta Hotels Preston… A Fantastic Wedding Venue in Lancashire
Formerly known to many couples as the Preston Marriott, Delta Hotels Preston remains one of the most popular wedding venues in the Preston area.
Set within beautiful grounds just outside the city centre, the venue offers everything couples need for a fantastic wedding day, from elegant function suites and stylish accommodation to excellent food and attentive staff. It’s a venue that works brilliantly for both large wedding celebrations and more intimate receptions, making it a popular choice for couples throughout Preston, Lancashire and the North West.
As a wedding DJ covering Preston and Lancashire, it’s always a pleasure returning to venues like this where everything is geared towards creating a great guest experience.
Cake Cut & First Dance Celebrations
At around 8pm, it was time to gather guests around the dance floor for two of the most important moments of the evening… the cake cutting and first dance.
As always, I hosted the proceedings, encouraging guests to gather around before introducing the newlyweds onto the dance floor.
In a lovely personal touch and an inside joke between the couple, they entered to the theme music from the US version of The Office, which immediately raised plenty of smiles amongst family and friends.
Their first dance was performed to Perfect For Me by Bradley Marshall, creating a lovely moment before I invited guests to join the happy couple halfway through the song.
It’s one of my favourite ways to start the dancing as it quickly fills the floor and creates momentum that carries through the rest of the evening.
Personal Requests & A Packed Dance Floor
Before the wedding, Ami & Jake had sent me a selection of songs they wanted included throughout the night.
As an experienced Lancashire wedding DJ, I always work closely with couples before their big day to make sure their favourite music features at exactly the right moments.
One of Ami’s favourite songs is These Days by Foo Fighters, so naturally we worked in a brilliant rock section during the evening. We also mixed in plenty of early 2000s pop and Pink classics which went down a storm with guests.
The dance floor stayed busy all night long as we worked through a carefully tailored mix of music designed specifically for the couple and their guests.
Scottish Anthems & A Huge Wedding Finale
One thing that became clear very quickly was that there were plenty of Scottish guests in attendance!
As soon as I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by The Proclaimers came on, the dance floor erupted, with guests singing every word at the top of their lungs.
Later in the evening, we followed that up with a fantastic rendition of Loch Lomond, creating one of those memorable wedding moments where the entire room comes together.
To bring the evening to a close, we finished with the bride’s chosen finale song – Greatest Day by Take That.
A brilliant singalong, a packed dance floor and the perfect way to end a fantastic wedding celebration.
