Stirk House, Gisburn… A Beautiful Ribble Valley Wedding Venue
As a Lancashire wedding DJ, I work at some fantastic venues, but Stirk House in Gisburn near Clitheroe is always a standout. With its gorgeous country house setting, elegant function spaces, and incredible surroundings, it’s perfect for couples looking for a stylish yet relaxed wedding day.
The ballroom is ideal for evening receptions, with plenty of space for a lively party and a full dance floor, exactly what I aim to deliver every time.
Cake Cut & First Dance; A Perfect Start to the Evening
Nathan & Gemma had a brilliant plan for the start of their evening reception. They chose Stuck in the Middle with You by Stealers Wheel for their cake cutting, which set a fun, upbeat tone right from the start.
From there, I introduced Mr & Mrs Brooks onto the dance floor for their first dance to At Last by Etta James – a true wedding classic. They had even prepared a few choreographed moves, which went down an absolute treat with their guests!
Part way through, I invited everyone to join them on the dance floor, quickly filling it up and kicking the night into full swing.
Live Wedding Band & DJ… The Perfect Combination
Getting the party started…
After a couple of wedding floor-fillers, it was time to introduce their live band, Pretty Ugly, who had been booked separately to perform two high-energy sets.
As an experienced wedding DJ at Stirk House, I regularly work alongside live bands, and it’s all about keeping the flow of the evening seamless. The band smashed out all the popular wedding hits, and I:
- Filled the gaps between their sets
- Kept the energy high throughout the night
- Took over fully after their final set
I then carried the party right through until 1am, making sure the dance floor stayed busy to the very end.
A Top Night at Stirk House
This wedding had everything; a fantastic couple, a lively crowd, great music, and a perfect mix of live band + DJ entertainment. Nights like this are exactly why I love being a wedding DJ in Clitheroe, Gisburn, and across Lancashire.
