Last Sunday I had the absolute pleasure of providing the evening reception entertainment at one of my favourite East Lancashire wedding venues, Stirk House – and what a night it was!

Wedding DJ at Stirk House, Gisburn – Mr & Mrs Wainwright
I was booked to cover the evening reception for Mr & Mrs Wainwright from 7pm until midnight at Stirk House in Gisburn, near Clitheroe. For me, Stirk House is one of the standout Lancashire wedding venues – elegant, welcoming, and perfect for a packed dance floor. The setting, the team, the atmosphere – it’s always a pleasure working there.
Jess & Chris wanted a high-energy, feel-good party vibe, and that’s exactly what we delivered.
A Perfect Start – Cake Cut & First Dance
Around 7:30pm, I invited guests to gather around the cake table ready for a special moment. As an experienced Clitheroe wedding DJ, I always make sure key moments are well organised, clearly announced and run smoothly.
I introduced the newlyweds to huge cheers before they performed their ceremonial cake cut. Straight after, it was time for their first dance to Runaway by The Corrs – a beautiful, emotional choice.
After around 60 seconds, I invited all guests to join Jess & Chris on the dance floor, and that’s when we got the party started properly. This is something I always recommend as a Lancashire wedding DJ – it instantly fills the floor and sets the tone for the night.
Surprise Flash Mob – Red Light Spells Danger!
Shortly after the first dance, the father of the bride had an incredible surprise lined up. He had secretly organised a flash mob-style routine to Red Light Spells Danger by Billy Ocean, involving most of the guests!
The look on Jess & Chris’ faces was priceless. Within seconds, the dance floor erupted as the routine kicked in. The couple quickly joined in, and the energy in the room went through the roof. As a professional wedding DJ in East Lancs, these are the moments I live for – when everyone commits, lets go, and creates unforgettable memories.

From that point on, it was one of those magical wedding receptions where the dance floor simply never emptied.
