Last week, I had the pleasure of providing my wedding DJ services for Josh & Rhianne Oakes (Mr & Mrs) at the beautiful Stirk House – one of my absolute favourite wedding venues in Lancashire!
I’m proud to be one of Stirk House’s regular suppliers, and it’s always a joy to perform there. The team are fantastic, the venue itself is stunning, and every wedding I play at has its own unique energy. This one was no exception!
Evening Reception with DJ & Live Sax
Josh & Rhianne actually booked me after attending a previous wedding where I’d been performing alongside one of our freestyle saxophonists – and they decided they wanted the same party vibe for their own big day!
Their evening reception started with a lovely first dance to “Still Falling for You” by Ellie Goulding. After the first couple of minutes, I invited guests to join the happy couple on the dance floor, which filled instantly and set the tone for an incredible night ahead!
Guest Requests & Party Vibes
Before the wedding, guests had submitted song requests on their RSVPs – which gave us a really fun and varied playlist! We had everything from:
Pink Pony Club (complete with inflatable pink ponies!),
Proud Mary, Madonna, ABBA, Murder on the Dancefloor, Shania Twain,
To dancefloor favourites like Freed from Desire, Show Me Love, and David Guetta classics.
As the night went on, we dived into Popworld-style anthems, Britpop, and a touch of punk – all keeping the energy sky high!
The Sax Sets – Raising the Roof!
One of the absolute highlights of the night was our amazing female freestyle saxophonist, who performed three high-energy sets alongside my DJ sets. The crowd loved it – she had everyone dancing, clapping and singing along as we brought Ibiza-style energy to Stirk House!
And of course, I couldn’t forget a few Taylor Swift tracks for Rhianne, who turned out to be quite the Swifty! We wrapped up the night with an epic singalong finale to Oasis – Don’t Look Back in Anger – the perfect ending to an unforgettable evening.
Why I Love Playing at Stirk House
Stirk House really is one of Lancashire’s most beautiful wedding venues, and I’m always delighted to be part of their weddings. The space works perfectly for DJ and live music combinations, and our lighting, dance floors, and LOVE letters all look amazing in the room too.
