On Sunday evening, I had the absolute pleasure of providing wedding hosting and DJ services at Stirk House in Gisburn, Lancashire – one of my favourite regular venues. Danny & Shannon (now the brand-new Mr & Mrs Leech) booked me to not only DJ their evening reception, but also to host their wedding breakfast – and what a day it turned out to be!
Just want to say a huge thank you for last night, you was amazing all the guests were up & dancing all night it was perfect! And the sax was absolutely brilliant xxxx
Hosting the Wedding Breakfast
From the moment the guests were seated, I set the mood with perfectly tailored background music. One of the highlights was introducing the bridesmaids and groomsmen to the iconic It’s Raining Men – complete with water pistols and umbrella hats for maximum fun! The atmosphere was electric by the time I brought in the bride and groom themselves to Set You Free by N-Trance – a real Lancashire party classic.
Throughout the meal, I kept the energy rising with sing-along party anthems, building towards the speeches. It was a real joy to host heartfelt words from the maid of honour, best man, groom, and even the bride’s brother – all of which had the perfect blend of laughter and emotion.
The Evening Party – DJ, Dance Floor & Saxophone
For the evening, Danny & Shannon booked my wedding DJ services in Lancashire, along with a 14ft white LED starlit dance floor and extra lighting for that all-important WOW factor. To top it all off, we had our fantastic female freestyle party saxophonist, who brought unbelievable energy to the night.
From the very first track, guests were up dancing – and that set the tone for the rest of the evening. Before the first dance, I introduced the traditional cake cut, then created a special moment by inviting the bride’s mother to share a dance with her daughter, joined later by the bride’s siblings, all to Whitney Houston’s My Love Is Your Love. It was beautiful and emotional in equal measure.
Then it was Danny’s turn – he joined Shannon for their official first dance, starting with the stunning acoustic version of Sinead Harnett’s Unconditional. Halfway through, we switched into the Sonny Fodera remix, and I invited guests onto the dance floor while our saxophonist lit up the room with her first set.
The dance floor was buzzing from start to finish – the perfect celebration for a fantastic couple!
