When I arrived at The Glass House at Staining Lodge for Carrianne and Dan Bacon’s twilight wedding, I knew it was going to be one of those unforgettable days. From the moment the couple got in touch with me about DJing their big day—and also hosting the daytime schedule including introductions and speeches… I could tell they wanted a wedding that was fun, relaxed, and full of personality. And that’s exactly what we delivered.
The setting at The Glass House is absolutely stunning. With its floor-to-ceiling glass and breath taking countryside views, it’s the perfect backdrop for any wedding—but especially magical for a twilight celebration. The changing light created such an intimate, romantic atmosphere as day turned to evening.
Hosting the Daytime
I kicked things off by welcoming guests and introducing the newlyweds ‘Mr & Mrs Bacon’ as they made their grand entrance. Hosting the speeches was a real privilege too. There’s something about being part of those emotional and hilarious moments that makes me appreciate just how special my role is.
Having that daytime connection meant I could keep the energy flowing throughout, making it a seamless transition into the evening. It’s something I love offering—being not just the DJ, but also the host to tie the whole day together. The set up I use blends in well through the daytime, perfect for when there is no room turnaround as is the case with Twilight weddings
Bringing the Party to Life
As twilight fell and the lights dimmed, the dance floor came alive. Carrianne and Dan had a really clear idea of what they wanted musically, and I loved curating a set list that reflected them perfectly. From their must-play tracks to a few dancefloor anthems that got everyone moving, it was one of those nights where the energy just kept going.
Their first dance was performed to The Tumbling Paddies ‘I’m Ready’ & included a Greek tradition whereby the ladies attach money to the bridal dress!
One of the standout moments? The bridesmaids absolutely going for it to Pitbull’s “Fireball”. Seriously, they owned that dance floor & I may or may not have the video to prove it… (Carrianne, it’s on its way to you! 😂🔥)
Lovely Feedback from the Bride
After the big day, I got this message from Carrianne that honestly made my week:
“Just want to say thank you so much for Tuesday! You were amazing. To listen to all the songs we wanted on our day was amazing and I know the bridesmaids had a ball! If you have the video of them dancing to Fireball in the evening I would love to see it 😂 xx”
