12th April ’13 – Hired as mobile DJ for Daniel’s 21st birthday party at Norcross Social Club in Thornton Cleveleys. Norcross Social is a great little function room for birthdays, christening & other celebrations. I DJ for quite a few parties there. Although, there is a rumour it’s closing down which would be a shame.
Anyway, Daniel’s parents booked me to play from 7.30pm till midnight. They were expecting approx 70 guests made up of family & friends. I think most must have turned up as the club was fairly busy. Played some warm up tunes early evening as guests were arriving & settling in with a drink & a chat, then we had the buffet & brought out the birthday cake! After everyone had been fed & watered, we got the main disco going. Played a mix of just about everything, old & new. Cheesy party dances seemed to work the best! Although his parents were into a bit of 80’s rock including Guns & Roses ‘Sweet Child’, finally played them out to Stevie Wonder’s ‘Happy Birthday’, all the best Daniel!
