27th January ’12 – I was hired to provide my mobile disco services for NST travel group annual post Christmas party. This was the 3rd year running I’d played for this party. As usual, it was at the Imperial Hotel on Blackpool sea front. We had approx 90 guests, all staff members of NST who were certainly up for a party! I did some warm up music to start with, then we had the buffet. After everyone had eaten, the organisors had asked me to provide a few party games which we had a lot of fun with. Even managed to get the MD up dancing as Howard from Take That! Then it was time for the main disco. Blackpool rocked! At 1am the party was still going strong! Wrapped it up shortly after 1am though, looked like quite a few were staying the night as I could still hear the noise from the residents bar when I was leaving around 1.45am! I bet their were a few sore heads the next morning! Top night!!

I also had mobile DJ Stu providing his disco at the Hilton hotel in Blackpool. The hotel had a ‘young at heart’ party in. At first I think Stu thought I was winding him up when I told him the average age was around 70! Anyway, he had a good ole party in the end, even got them all up doing a conga!!

28th January ’12 – My 2nd mobile disco of the weekend was at the Blackpool DeVere hotel. I was playing for Glasdon’s annual post Christmas party. Again, this is another regular gig for me, the third year running. Big party in the full function suite with nearly 300 guests. After dinner, we also had live music from 6 pc party band ‘Boogie Express’. They actually played 2 sets throughout the night with a selection of hits from the past 4 decades. I kept my disco sets fairly modern & up to date as a contrast to the band which semed to work well. It was suddenly 1am & time to say goodnight even though I still had a full floor, another top night!
