This was my first time playing at Marsh Farm Hall, and what a great little wedding venue it is! From the moment I arrived, I could see why it’s becoming such an appealing choice for couples looking for a relaxed and characterful wedding venue in the Lancashire countryside.
And with a brilliant group of guests, a great music brief and a packed dance floor, it turned into a fantastic wedding party!
Marsh Farm Hall – A Great Lancashire Wedding Venue
I’m fortunate to work at wedding venues right across Lancashire, the Fylde Coast and the surrounding areas, and it’s always exciting to discover somewhere new.
Marsh Farm Hall in Great Eccleston is a lovely setting for a wedding celebration, offering couples something a little different from the larger hotel-style wedding venues.
Located within easy reach of Poulton-le-Fylde, Garstang, Preston and the wider Fylde Coast, it’s ideally positioned for couples looking for a countryside wedding venue in Lancashire while still being accessible for guests travelling from across the region.
After my first wedding here, I’m definitely hoping it won’t be my last!
A First Dance with a Twist
Once the evening reception was ready to get underway, we kicked things off with Collette & Mark’s first dance.
They chose to start with around a minute of Perfect, before switching things up with Tina Turner’s legendary The Best.
Then came the cue for me to invite their family and friends to join them on the dance floor as we moved into Ain’t Nobody by Chaka Khan.
And that was it – party mode activated!
It’s one of my favourite ways to start a wedding reception because it gives the newlyweds their special first dance moment, but then quickly gets everyone else involved.
There’s nothing quite like seeing the dance floor fill up early in the evening.
Cheesy Pop, 90s Bangers & Vocal House
Collette & Mark had a great idea of the type of music they wanted for their wedding party, and it gave me plenty to work with throughout the evening.
As an experienced wedding DJ in Lancashire, I always like to get an idea beforehand of the music couples and their guests enjoy. That gives me a starting point, but once the party begins, I read the room and adapt the music accordingly.
For this wedding, we worked our way through a brilliant mixture of:
- Cheesy pop favourites
- Huge 90s bangers
- Classic wedding party hits
- Dance floor favourites
- Vocal house later in the evening
It was a great combination and gave the evening a real progression, moving from familiar party favourites into some slightly deeper vocal house as the night developed.
A Packed Dance Floor at Marsh Farm Hall
One of the things I love about wedding DJing is that every wedding has its own personality.
Some couples want a huge selection of wedding classics, others want a particular genre or era, while some simply want a great party and trust me to read the room.
Collette & Mark’s wedding was definitely about having fun.
With the right combination of music, a fantastic crowd and a little bit of DJ Andy B magic, the dance floor stayed busy and the atmosphere just kept building.
It was a brilliant way to experience Marsh Farm Hall for the first time.
