I’ve always loved working at Wyresdale Park. It’s one of those venues that has a real character all of its own, and every wedding I play there feels relaxed, stylish and completely unique. This wedding was no exception, with an incredible atmosphere from the very first dance right through to the final song at 1am.
Wyresdale Park – One of Lancashire’s Most Unique Wedding Venues
As a Lancashire wedding DJ, I’m lucky enough to work at some truly beautiful venues, and Wyresdale Park is undoubtedly one of my favourites.
Nestled within the rolling Lancashire countryside near Scorton and Garstang, on the edge of the beautiful Forest of Bowland, Wyresdale Park offers couples an exclusive wedding venue that’s bursting with charm. The rustic barns, picturesque grounds and relaxed atmosphere make it an amazing place to celebrate with family and friends.

Cake Cutting & First Dance
I was booked to provide the evening entertainment from 7pm through until 1am, and once all the evening guests had arrived, it was time to gather everyone around the dance floor for the evening’s formalities.
After inviting everyone in for the perfect photo opportunity, I introduced Richard & Lauren for their cake cutting before welcoming them onto the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.
They chose the brilliant Belong Together by Mark Ambor, creating a lovely moment before I invited family and friends to join the happy couple halfway through the song.
The dance floor filled instantly, and as the first dance flowed seamlessly into Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind, the party was officially underway.
A Personalised Wedding Soundtrack
One of the things I always encourage my couples to do is send me a playlist before the wedding.
Lauren had put together a fantastic selection of music that really reflected both their personalities and the type of atmosphere they wanted to create.
Throughout the evening we worked through an eclectic mix of:
- Rock favourites
- Pop classics
- Alternative anthems
- Timeless wedding floor-fillers
- Dance hits
Combined with requests from guests on the night and a bit of expert crowd reading, it created exactly the kind of atmosphere every couple hopes for—a packed dance floor, smiling faces and fantastic energy from start to finish.
No two weddings are ever the same, and that’s exactly how I like it. Every celebration gets its own soundtrack.
A Brilliant Finale
As the evening drew to a close, we gathered everyone together for one final singalong.
Richard & Lauren had chosen The Day We Caught The Train by Ocean Colour Scene as their finale, and what a choice it was.
With guests arm in arm, singing every word back at the happy couple, it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable wedding celebration at Wyresdale Park.
Those final moments are often the ones people remember most, and this was certainly one of them.
