Saturday night was a special one right here in my home town of Blackpool!
I had the pleasure of providing my wedding DJ services for the lovely Mr & Mrs Wilkes (Kayla & David), who celebrated their big day in the intimate Louis Room of the Imperial Hotel.
This particular booking came directly from the hotel, which I’m proud to say I’ve been supplying with DJs and entertainment for all kinds of weddings and events for over 15 years. The Imperial is one of Blackpool’s most iconic venues, and it’s always a pleasure to bring the party to life there!
The First Dance – Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You
Kayla & David chose the 80s soul classic “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You” by Glenn Medeiros for their first dance. The moment was pure magic — and just a couple of minutes in, with a burst of confetti and cheers all around, I transitioned smoothly into “Unwritten” for the bride tribe to take over the dance floor! It was a brilliant moment that set the tone perfectly for the night ahead.
Music to Get Everyone Dancing
The couple had sent me a small but carefully selected list of requests before the wedding — a perfect mix of wedding classics with a splash of Reggae vibes, plus fun floor-fillers like “Mysterious Girl” and “Sex on the Beach”. Once the formalities were done, we went straight into dancing, and the energy in the room was fantastic from start to finish.
