28th December ’13 – My first time playing at the Marine Hall in Fleetwood. Actually a great venue for a wedding party! Will & Rachel Evans had hired my wedding disco services from 5pm till 1am, starting with music through the wedding breakfast.
The hall looked very festive surrounded by Christmas trees & they had requested mostly Christmas Jazz during the wedding breakfast.
Then we had speeches & a bit or a warm up disco from me prior to the cake cutting & first dance. They performed their first dance to Elvis ‘Can’t help falling in love’ then asked me to follow it up with Stevie Wonder ‘For once in my life’ for everyone to join in, which they certainly did!
Fab night! As well as my disco, we also had live music from an Indie/Rock band called ‘Venezuela Venezuela‘ who kept the dance floor busy too. Will, the groom, had sent me quite a large list of music, but in fairness most of it was fairly mainstream & not too difficult to include!
At 1am, we finished off with Take That ‘Never Forget’ before playing guests out to Elbow ‘On a day like this’
