31st August ’13 – Hired by Mr & Mrs Sharrock to be their wedding DJ at Haydock Park. We were celebrating in the Premier Suite at this famous race course. They actually got married abroad but had a big party for friends & family who couldn’t join them in Mexico.
Laura & Lee had prepared a very specific list of music for me to play from which is fine by me. I’m happy to let clients have as much input into the music as they like, after all it’s their party!
As it happened, their list was fairly mainstream anyway with a slight lean towards the Indie/Rock scene, not quite as up to date as I have come to expect from most of this season’s brides & grooms, but mostly popular dance floor fillers which guests got into the spirit of.
Their first dance was the You & Me song from the Wannadies to be followed by Queen ‘a crazy little thing called love’ & then Maroon 5 ‘Moves like Jagger’. Guests joined in the first dance part way through & apart from the buffet break (which was a good time to get in the songs which weren’t going to fill the floor!), the dance floor remained packed throughout!
The bride & groom also provided a box of props such as inflatable guitars, big glasses etc for a bit of fun which were well used!
Quite a few little ‘hands in the air’ moments!
Their final songs were ‘Good Riddance time of your life’, ‘New York New York’ & ‘You’ll never walk alone’
