23rd & 24th August ’13 – Another busy weekend providing my wedding discos for happy couples in the Preston area. On Friday night I was playing at one of my regular wedding venues, Beeston Manor. Really enjoy playing at Beeston Manor, lovely wedding venue, one of my favourites throughout Preston & I guess the feeling is mutual as the owners recommend me to their clients needing a wedding DJ.
It was the wedding party of Mr & Mrs Barton. They had booked the disco from 7.30pm till 12am. Approx an hour into the evening, I invited guests up around the dancing area before inviting the happy couple on to the dance floor to perform their first dance to ‘I won’t give up’ from Jason Mraz.
Abigail, the bride, had sent me a playlist of 30 or so songs which included current chart hits such as Blurred Lines, Wake me up, Can’t hold us, crazy kids etc, a selection of typical wedding favourites such as I gotta feeling, Valerie, I wanna dance with somebody, Summer of 69, Livin’ on a Prayer & Brown Eye girl etc & some cheesy party tunes which still fill the dance floor such as Dirty Dancing, Grease Mix, Abba, Sweet Caroline etc.

Then on Saturday night, I was playing at Samlesbury Hall for the wedding party of Mr & Mrs Kitchener. Situated on Preston New Road, in Samlesbury, this historic hall is another fabulous wedding venue in Preston! Again, they’d booked the disco from 7.30pm till 12am.
Their first dance was to ‘Only You’ from Sinead O’Connor, they had then asked for me to follow this up with ‘Rule the World’ from Take That.
Andrew & Sarah had then given me a playlist of around 20 songs which included hits from Pulp, Wannadies, Kings of Leon, Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, Artics, Robbie, Take That, Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Dolly Parton, Abba, Whitney, Human League, Don McLean, Dirty Dancing & a finale to ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, ‘Time of your Life (good riddance)’ & finishing on the Beatles ‘Here comes the Sun’
