19th July ’13 – Hired as wedding DJ for Mr & Mrs Rowell at Meols Hall in Southport. First time I’ve played at Meols Hall, Southport’s historical manor house dating back to the early 12th Century. Set in one hundred acres of private parkland close to the picturesque village of Churchtown, this is one of the oldest settlements on the Lancashire coast.
Within the grounds of Meols Hall is the Tithe Barn, which provides a beautiful settings for a wedding in the Southport area.
They picked ‘You are so beautiful’ by Joe Cocker for their first dance.
They had also compiled a play list ranging from current chart favourites, 90’s dance, party dances(!), Spice Girls, rock & possibly everything in between! We also had a finale to ‘Sing’ by the commonwealth band as requested by Marianne (the bride).
The weather was really nice, making it very hot in the Tithe Barn, so in fairness, we had a bit of a slow start as most guests chose to sit outside in the courtyard through the early evening. Once we got them inside, they all got into the spirit of the night though, so all’s well that ends well!
