14th July ’13 – Hired as wedding DJ for Mr & Mrs Holden at the Clifton Arms Hotel in Lytham St Annes. It’s been a while since I worked at the Clifton Arms, nice hotel on the sea front of Lytham with a great little ballroom for weddings & events.
Sarah, the bride, had an idea to supply some 80’s board games as presents under the tables such as connect 4, buckaroo, hungry hippos etc as a bit of fun for guests during the first hour of the evening whilst the happy couple were having photos outside. Must confess, it’s the first time I’ve seen this idea, & wasn’t sure guests would play, but they got into the spirit of it!
Their first dance was performed to Christina Perri ‘1000 years’, they had then requested Robin Thicke ‘Blurred Lines’ for everyone to join in as a second dance.
After this, we had a real mix of music covering all tastes to take us right through till our midnight finale to New York New York! (barring a few breaks for the throwing of the bouquet & the buffet etc.)
