17th May ’13 – Was pleased to be providing the complete soundtrack to Mr & Mrs Jackson’s big day at the Last Drop Village Hotel, Bolton. They had booked me to provide music for the ceremony, wedding breakfast & of course, the evening disco.
The ceremony was to take place in the main hotel of this 18th Century farm house in the Bromley Cross area of Bolton. The ceremony room is called the Mimosa suite. I placed the speaker on the little balcony to give a good all round sound without deafening anyone! Played some light classical as guests entered. For Hannah, the bride’s, entrance, I played Pachelbel Canon in D (a popular choice for the processional). They wanted Bach Air on the G String for the signing & Vivaldi ‘Spring’ for the exit.
Then it was over to the Demdyke Suite for the wedding breakfast. As well as playing some suitable background music throughout, I also acted as host, calling the bride & groom into the room & announcing the speeches etc. Guests were able to use my wireless microphone for the speeches too, which makes a difference in keeping guests attention.
As well as my normal disco lighting, they had also hired 10 uplighters from me which I placed around the room before the wedding breakfast & set to lilac (ish) which really set the atmosphere in the room even in daylight. Hannah & Paul had given me a setlist of approx. 12 songs they wanted to hear through the wedding breakfast, I created playlist to last the whole time including their songs & some of my own selection such as Buble!
After a brief turn around of the room, it was time for the evening reception. Their first dance was performed to Lonestar ‘Amazed’. They had also provided me with a small set list of around 10 songs for the evening which included music from Oasis, Take That, Robbie, Eurythmics, James & the Spin Doctors. As well as these, I also played a selection of wedding favourites including current chart & party classics!
We then had a finale at 12 midnight to ‘New York New York’! All the best to Mr & Mrs Jackson!
