3rd May ’13 – First time I’ve been involved in a boxing event! Organised by Blackpool Kingscote Amateur Boxing Club, they called it the Fighting Tangerines, a boxing dinner show which was put on at the Imperial hotel, Blackpool.

The event was held in the Lancastrian ball room, with the ring up in the middle of the room & dinner tables all around. I was hired to provide the PA complete with music, hand held radio microphone for the commentator & intros for the boxers. They also threw dinner in for me, which was cool as they sat me on the guest table alongside Blackpool boxing legend Brian London & current champions from Blackpool, Brian Rose & Matty Askins.

After dinner, we had 10 bouts of amateur boxing which consisted of skills bouts, school boy bouts & senior bouts including a belt bout.
