29th March ’13 – Was pleased to be hired as wedding DJ for Mr & Mrs Wood who were celebrating their big day at Bartle Hall hotel on the outskirts of Preston. Bartle Hall is a fab wedding venue & one we play at quite regularly.
They’d booked me to DJ from 7.30pm till 1am. For their first dance, they chose a cover of ‘Can’t take my eyes off you’ performed by James Arthur. Then as a follow up song, they requested ‘1000 years’ by Christina Perri & I invited all the guests to join them.
Nikki, the bride, had asked for a mix of mostly modern/chart music with a few classics & Motown thrown in. I also had quite a lot of requests on the night including PJ & Duncan(!) & 5ive! The 80’s favourites also proved quite popular & we somehow ended up with a conga line to Kc & the Sunshine band ‘Baby give it up’! The last hour was mostly RnB/dance which kept her & her friends dancing away till the big finish at 1am. Nobody wanted to leave, so I obliged with a few more songs to play them out to! Wild night!
