23rd & 30th March ’13 – Was pleased to be hired as wedding DJ for 2 weddings at Langdale Chase this week. Langdale Chase is a magnificent country house hotel, which commands panoramic and inspirational views of Lake Windermere and mountains from the seclusion of its own wooded grounds. Just three miles north of Windermere and two miles south of Ambleside, it is situated in the heart of Lakeland, making it an ideal wedding venue.

The first was for Mr & Mrs Gibson. They booked my wedding disco to run from 7.30pm till midnight. Around 8.30pm they performed their first dance to ‘All I have’ by Beth Neilson Chapman.

We followed this up with a special request from the groom to the bride which was Abba ‘Hey Hey Helen’ (her name!). After this, we had a few ratpack/swing classics which the male guests lapped up, showing off their moves! After the buffet, it was time for the main disco party. Bruce (the groom) was into his 70’s soul, funk & disco which dominated the night with a few wedding favourites thrown in for good measure. All the best to Mr & Mrs Gibson!

The following Saturday was the turn of Mr & Mrs Dillon who hired my wedding disco services from 7pm till 1am. A great fun rowdy night! Their first dance was ‘Can’t take my eyes off you’ by Frankie Valli’.

Then they asked me to follow this up with ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ from Oasis.

Karen (the bride) had sent me a playlist of 20 odd songs which consisted of lots of Motown, 60’s, soft rock & Indie including lots of Oasis which was very popular.

We had a big finale to ‘Paradise’ from Coldplay. Then I played a few extras to play them out! All the best to mr & Mrs Dillon!
