1st September ’12 – Was hired as wedding DJ for the civil partnership of Ann Marie & Amanda at the Imperial hotel in Blackpool. They were celebrating in the Washington Suite which is one of the larger ballrooms in this grand Victorian style hotel on Blackpool sea front.
They had a first dance to Fun – ‘We are young’. I invited guests up to join the happy couple on the dance floor part way through & apart from a break for the buffet, the floor remained full most of the night!
As well as the disco, they had also hired a traditional Irish band to play 2 sets throughout the evening. Ann Marie has Irish family so it was very popular & also worked well as a contrast to my music which was mostly modern chart & party hits. They didn’t exactly give me a playlist, just keep it lively & fairly current! With requests for Pink, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Jessie J along with a few older numbers from Meatloaf & UB40.
