10th June ’12 – Was hired to provide my wedding disco & casino package at Statham Lodge in Lymm for the evening reception of Mr & Mrs Alderson. The evening was due to start at 7pm although it was more like 7.30pm before guests returned to the room, making the most of the decent weather & the lovely grounds at Statham Lodge.

We had the casino tables open for the first 2 hours of the reception. In fairness, most wedding clients hire the tables to start from the end of the wedding breakfast through the early evening but they also work well just in the evening, ideally early evening, get them finished before the end of the buffet so that it doesn’t split the guests once we’ve got the disco going!

As well as their first dance, Rachel, the bride asked me to play a song for her & her dad to dance too. As they hadn’t picked one, she left it for me to choose one there & then, so on short notice, thought Temptations ‘My Girl’ would be a good one! Seemed to work well! I do have a small selection of songs kind of specifically for a father/daughter dance but they are either a bit too ‘wedding cheesy’ or weepy for my liking!

Before we knew it, midnight had struck & time to say goodnight, all the best to Mr & Mrs Alderson!
