13th May ’12 – Was hired to provide disco for the civil partnership of Angie & kelly at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in deepest Lancashire! On the outskirts of Blackburn. The Dunkenhalgh is a 700 year old country house which must be one the the biggest & busiest function hotels in the area.
This civil partnership was in the Dunklaw & Gardens suites which works well for smaller parties. A real good fun crowd! We had a few up boogieing from the start of the night. One of their guests could sing with quite the operatic voice(!) & she’d dressed in a union jack outfit, so seemed to fit in that she sang Rule Britannia for us(!) just before we had the cake cutting & the first dance which was performed to Renne Olstead ‘A love that will Last’. Then, apart from the buffet break, we had lots of guests up dancing all night long! Angie & Kelly had sent me a play list which was fairly mainstream, with a few camp party hits thrown in for good measure! Top night!
