29th December ’11 – Was hired as wedding DJ for the wedding party of Mr & Mrs Pearson at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Blackburn. The Dunkenhalgh is a hotel I’ve played at on countless occasions, not just for weddings but all types of functions & events. Set in Clayton Le Moors on the outskirts of Blackburn, this 700 year old country manor is now a 4 star hotel which must be one of, if not, the largest function hotels in the area.
Tonight we were in the Towneley suite which is a good sized room for small to medium weddings. I’d been hired to DJ from 7.30pm till 1am. Recently, most wedding clients have quite a specific idea of the music they’d like playing throughout the evening. However, tonight was an exception. They just wanted their first dance to Train’s ‘drops of jupiter’ then for me to follow it up with ‘Valerie’. Of course, I invited requests on the night & chucked in all those party & dance floor favourites! Great night! The dance floor remained busy right through till our big finale at 1am!
