NYE ’11 – First time I’ve done a wedding on NYE, enjoyed it! Mr & Mrs Orton booked me to be their wedding DJ at Didsbury House Hotel, South Manchester. Also the first time I’ve DJ’ed at Didsbury House hotel. Nice little venue for a wedding party. Emma the bride had give me a decent sized list of music that comprised of her favourites (80’s, country & some chart & party hits) & a list of songs guests had asked for. Their first dance was performed to Vonda Sheppard & Robert Downey Jnr singing ‘Chances Are’. From then onwards, we had a full dance floor right the way through the night. As well as the music, I was also doing a countdown to 12 o clock. The groom & his mates must have done a conga on his stag do, so we re enacted that! (I promise it’s not usually on my set list for a wedding party!). At midnight, I brought in the New Year with the help of Big Ben & Auld Lang Syne! Then at 1am we had the big finish with New York New York & played guests out to Elbow ‘On a day like this’
Had the following email from the bride on New Year’s day –
‘Hi Andy,
Tom and I wanted to thankyou again for a great night! Music was fab and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Hope you did too!
