18th December ’11 – Was hired as the wedding DJ for the evening reception of Mr & Mrs Hoyles at Mitton Hall, Clitheroe. Mitton Hall is a fab little venue for wedding parties. This grade 2 listed building dates back to the 15th Century & is quite close to the Whalley area of Clitheroe. ‘Out in the sticks’ a little bit, the roads there were showing signs of an earlier snowfall, but I got there in one piece!
The evening reception started at 7.30pm through till midnight. They’d chosen a cake made entirely of cheese rather than a traditional wedding cake! Which I got them to cut just prior to their first dance which was performed to DJ Sammy ‘Heaven’ (the candlelight version). After the buffet, I started up the main disco which was mainly a mix of chart & party music with a few cheesy requests! (Got to be done at a wedding!) & a few of my old wedding favourites thrown in for good measure! Nice atmosphere. Then at midnight, we had a big finish, at the end of which, guests were calling for more, so of course I obliged! Then they asked for some ‘Lancashire Hotpots’! It’s not often as a DJ I can’t find a request but this one beat me! As it happened, the men had all been to a ‘Hotpots’ concert the night before as a kind of 2nd stag do & the brother of the groom had a CD in his car! So, I played them a track from the CD, ‘chippy tea’! All good fun! All the best to you, Mr & Mrs Hoyles!
So, if you’re getting married at Mitton Hall or anywhere within the Clitheroe area & are looknig for an experienced & reliable wedding DJ for the evening reception, email your enquiry to andy@andybevents.co.uk Expect to pay £225 till midnight or £250 till 1am which I am sure is better the value than the hotel providing you with ‘their’ DJ & I’ll certainly offer you a personal service which you won’t get from an agency DJ.
