Boxing Day ’11 – Great to be back at the Imperial hotel in Blackpool. This is the 4th year I’ve played host & DJ at their Gala dinner & disco for guests staying at this historic 4 star Blackpool hotel over the Christmas holidays. Tonight we were in the rather grand Lancastrian suite. As well as the disco, we also had live music, this year in the form of male duo ‘Pacino’. Towards the end of dinner, Gary from Pacino sang a solo set of swing/big band favourites which went down a treat, then I did a 30 minute Motown set which filled the dance floor (bear in mind, it’s an older clientale!), then Pacino came on to play those old party tunes which kept the atmosphere going nicely. I wrapped up the evening with a final DJ set, played a few requests & more dance floor favourites, a very pleasant evening!
