11th Dec ’11 – Hired to provide my disco & fun casino tables for a charity party night at the Beech Hill Hotel, near Newby Bridge, Windermere. This 4 star hotel is on Newby Bridge Road approx 4 miles from Bowness on Windermere actually overlooking Lake Windermere.
The format was dinner, casino tables & disco. It was all set in their restaurant/function room which is a great setting for an event.
They had hired 2 of our fun casino tables, Roulette & Blackjack, which we ran from around 9.30pm till almost midnight. Gaming was very popular, the casino tables were crowded throughout the entire night which made for a great atmosphere! We were hoping to raise a few quid for the British heart Foundation. I’m pleased to say we collected over £400 as a result of the casino tables. The hotel had given us a bottle of champagne worth over £55 as a main prize. I also did a quick game of heads & tails for our bottle of plonk which raised an extra £40. All in all, not a bad effort from the 40/50 or so guests attending.
The disco was good too, everyone got into the party spirit of the evening. I played a selection of my ‘function favourites’ which kept the dance floor busy right through to the ‘New York New York’ finale along with ‘Fairytale of New York’!
Fab night, really enjoyed it. Some of the guests had booked in for the night which made much more sense than driving along Windermere in the rainy night! Looking forward to working there again sometime.
