30th March ’12 – Was pleased to be back at The Place Hotel in Manchester. Fab venue for a wedding party. This night, I was providing my disco services for the wedding party of Mr & Mrs McMillan. Previously, when I’ve worked at the Place Hotel, I’ve set up on the main dining level but on this occasion, they wanted me to run the disco from the DJ booth which overlooks the dance floor on the lower level. I must confess I did enjoy working in the booth, although I think it’s put to the best use for larger parties say of 200 guests or more. For smaller parties such as this one where we had less than 100 guests, I felt a bit seperated from the guests. We still managed to make a good night of it though! Their first dance was performed to Dido ‘White Flag’, we also had the mock cake cutting just immediately before the first dance. Jackie, the bride had given me a bit of a playlist which was mostly the older rock & pop hits with a bit of Motown thrown in! Another good night had by all!
So, if you’re looking for an experienced wedding DJ to provide the disco for your big day in the centre of Manchester, email your enquiry to email@example.com As a guide, expect to pay £275 in the city centre to cover playing times of 7.30pm till midnight, then £25 per hour for any additional time. Of course, I have already played at many of the hotels in Manchester such as the Place Hotel, which makes life that little bit easier as I already know where I’m going to set up etc.
